The VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that treats hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne, acne scarring, sun damage and fine lines. It is virtually painless, the skin usually peels for a few days starting around day three, and it is formulated to be safe for all skin tones. At Crystal Ngozi Beauty & Esthetics in Tucker, GA, we treat all skin types and specialize in Black and brown skin, preparing your skin before and guiding you after so it heals clear and even.
Real correction, without the risk of trading one dark spot for another
Melanin-rich skin is more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which means the wrong peel or an aggressive treatment can leave more discoloration than you started with. That is why so many of our clients have been afraid of peels.
The VI Peel is a medium-depth peel made for all skin tones. With the right skin prep before your peel and the right aftercare after it, it reveals fresher, clearer, more even skin as the old layers shed away.

- Acne scarring, sun damage or rough, uneven texture
- Fine lines and dullness as part of an anti-aging plan
- All skin types, with a specialty in Black and brown skin
We will make sure it is the right peel for you
The VI Peel is not for everyone. It is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have used Accutane in the last six months, have certain allergies, active cold sores or open wounds, or some medical conditions. We screen for all of these at your consultation, and if the VI Peel is not the right fit, we will guide you to a gentler option that still gets results.
Skin of color is our specialty, not a side note
Our licensed esthetics team builds every protocol around melanin-rich skin: how it heals, how it holds pigment and how to get results without setbacks.
VI Peel FAQ
Is the VI Peel safe for dark skin?
Yes. The VI Peel is formulated to be safe and effective for all skin tones, and it is one of our most-requested peels for Black and brown skin. We prepare your skin before your peel and guide your aftercare so melanin-rich skin heals evenly.
What does the VI Peel treat?
The VI Peel targets stubborn dark spots and hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne and acne scarring, sun damage, fine lines and rough, uneven texture.
Does the VI Peel hurt?
Most clients describe it as virtually painless. You may feel slight warmth and tingling for a few moments, and it subsides quickly.
When will I start peeling, and for how long?
On the face, peeling usually starts around day three and lasts about three to four days. On the body, peeling usually starts around days five to seven. Most clients go about their normal routine while they peel.
How many VI Peels will I need?
Many clients see a difference after one peel. For stubborn pigmentation, melasma or acne scarring, a series of three to six peels spaced three to four weeks apart gives the best results. Your consultation gives you an exact plan.
What should I avoid after a VI Peel?
Let your skin peel on its own, never pick, and wear sunscreen daily. Avoid exercise and heavy sweating for 72 to 96 hours, or 7 days if you are prone to hyperpigmentation, and avoid swimming for 7 to 10 days. We give you clear aftercare instructions at your appointment.
Who should not get a VI Peel?
The VI Peel is not for you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have used Accutane in the last six months, are allergic to aspirin, hydroquinone or phenol, have active cold sores or open wounds, are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, or have an autoimmune or liver condition. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask us about our lactic peel instead.
Can the VI Peel be used on the body?
Yes. We offer the VI Peel on the body for areas like the back and chest, for dark spots, acne marks and uneven texture.
When is the best time of year to get a VI Peel?
Fall and winter are ideal, because there is less intense sun while your skin heals. You can get a VI Peel any time of year with consistent sunscreen and aftercare.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer flexible payment plans through Cherry and Klarna, plus single peels, series and combination plans, so there is an option for every budget.
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. We check that the VI Peel is right for your skin and your goals, and prepare your skin so it heals evenly. Your first visit includes a custom facial, so it is already treatment.
